Miss Sett Smörgåsbord
Homecoming 2008

Miss Sett was in her glory with her Smorgasbord luncheon on Saturday afternoon, October 11, 2008. Over 30 former students who had Miss Sett as a housemother came together in LeTourneau Hall to pay tribute to our Grand Dame! The buffet was complete with her favorite selections of roast turkey, salmon, Swedish meatballs, scalloped potatoes, rice pudding, banana nut bread, cookies,
and much more.

The Alumni Association presented Miss Sett with a collage of photos that included pictures of the three dorms where she was house mother, a picture of the falls and of herself along with an inscription, “Toccoa Falls Alumni Association is proud to honor Miss Sett for her many years of service to Toccoa Falls students. Homecoming 2008.”

Update September 2008: Miss Sett continues to improve from her car accident a few weeks ago and was moved to the Clary Care Center for additional rest. She is expected to be there during September and back home by Homecoming. Each time one of us visits her, she is anxious to talk about Homecoming and is excited about the Smorgasbord being presented in her honor Saturday afternoon at Homecoming! She wanted me to express her appreciation to those of you who sent cards, emails, and made phone calls. She was overwhelmed with the outpouring of your love and well wishes. So, on her behalf, thank you! If you wish to contact her, the Clary Center is located near Stephens County Hospital. The phone number to her room is 706-282-5633.
For many years Miss Sett trained hundreds of young ladies to have poise, be a gracious hostess, and set a lovely table. Her hands-on training included preparing a complete Swedish Smörgåsbord for “her girls” in LeTourneau or Fant Hall when she was House Mother.
For those of us fortunate enough to have shared in that experience, we relish that memory. Now, it is our turn to prepare her feast for her! We encourage “her girls” to join us to pay tribute to Toccoa Falls Grand Hostess. Sign up today for the Smörgåsbord on the Homecoming Schedule. This promises to be a memorable time for Miss Sett and every “girl” who attends!
