Senior Class Reception
Homecoming 2008
Alumni of the High School Class of 1964 were on hand to greet our graduating seniors Saturday afternoon, October 11, 2008, in the inaugural Senior Reception at Forrest Hall Lobby. This event was made possible from a HS 1964 alumna who provided seed money for the reception for the next three years.
Over 50 students showed up for their special buffet and a TFAA Travel Mug, both of which were provided by the Alumni Association through the High School class financial efforts. They interacted with alumni, asking questions about career options, gathering business cards, and making connections for future endeavors.
I will be contacting anniversary classes in future Homecomings to sponsor this event. We will be seeking a financial commitment of at least $1,200-$2,000 to sponsor the reception, so be thinking how you and your class can be involved.
July 2008
Beginning this fall, a special reception will be held to honor our newest-members to-be in the Alumni Association – graduating seniors. This October, the High School Class of 1964 is sponsoring the event, and we will look for other classes to sponsor this reception at future homecomings.
This reception is multi-purposed. Primarily, we want to personally welcome graduating seniors into our association. At the same time, we want to establish networking opportunities to our seniors from various professional vantage points. We have very accomplished alumni in business, education, law, medicine, the military, missions and the ministry with connections and the means to mentor new alumni and to help get them established in their new career.
So, this reception is a start. Regardless of your class year, please sign up to be on hand to serve our seniors, offer an encouraging word, and to simply make a new friend.
