Report from TFAA President
REPORT OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT TO THE ALUMNI BOARD OF DIRECTORS APRIL 23, 2010

Since our last board meeting I have had the opportunity to be on campus for several different events. The first was for the 3rd annual Campus Work Day March 6, 2010. It was a great sight to see the group of students, administration, faculty, and staff gathered at The Bell before dispersing throughout the campus to work and clean. The hours passed quickly—working while conversing with new acquaintances and reconnecting with old ones. Overall the day was a wonderful reminder of why I serve with each of you on this board—a love for Toccoa Falls.
A week later I was on campus, along with many others, to celebrate Dr. Paul Alford’s 80th birthday. Dr. Alford was president while I was a student. The last time I remember seeing him was at graduation when he handed my diploma to me. It was an honor to shake Dr. Alford’s hand and speak with him a few minutes on his 80th birthday.
I attended my second Board of Trustees meeting April 15, 2010 as a representative of this board. Last fall I was assigned to the Public Relations/Marketing Committee of the Board of Trustees. Chairman Sam Ferrell requested Angie Ramage, Director for Marketing and Communication, put together a brief video called The Next Step for prospective students to see a little of Toccoa Falls College. Each member of the Board of Trustees took a copy of this DVD home with them, and several members requested multiple copies to hand out. The video is also on tfc.edu as well as on YouTube.com.
Our beloved alma mater is facing challenging days with the budget deficit and low enrollment. As alumni we can help by praying for the college, giving financially, and encouraging prospective students to consider TFC as the place God may be calling them.
I continue to be amazed at the work God began over 100 years ago in the hearts and actions of Dr. and Mrs. Richard A. Forrest. They willingly dedicated themselves to the enormous task of educating and training men and women. Every person here is a result of their faithfulness and the personal sacrifice they endured as a result of obeying God.
Thank you for continuing to serve as supporters and ambassadors to potential students, alumni, and students of Toccoa Falls College. Each member of this board is an important part of the college’s history as well as its future. Let us always remember that Toccoa Falls College began through the obedience of two faithful Christ followers—Richard and Evelyn Forrest. May we be as faithful.
Respectfully Submitted,

Rebecca (Kim, 1996) Anaya, President
Toccoa Falls Alumni Association
